The package announced by the government yesterday includes:
• A £400 payment due to be paid to all energy accounts in October
This is now not repayable and replaces the £200 ‘loan’ which would have been paid in October.
• A £650 will be paid to 8 million low income households, paid over 2 payments of £325 with the first in July and second in November
This will be paid to any household who receives:
- Universal Credit
- Pension Credit
- Income Based Jobseekers allowance
- Income Related ESA
- Income Support
- Child and/or Working Tax Credits
You must have been in receipt of the benefit on 25th May 2022
• A £150 to people in receipt of a Disability Benefit will be paid in September
This will be paid to anyone in receipt of:
- Attendance Allowance
- Personal Independence Payment
- Disability Living Allowance
- or any of the new Scottish Disability Benefits which are replacing the benefits above
You must have been in receipt of the benefit on 25th May 2022
• £300 for pensioner households who receive the Winter Fuel Payment
Will be payable along with the Winter Fuel Payment in November/December 2022
You must be over 66 by 25th September 2022 to receive this.
All these payments are cumulative and will be paid automatically, so you will receive all that you are entitled to and will not have to complete an additional application.
For example a pensioner in receipt of Pension Credit and Attendance allowance would receive all of the above.
